A contrite heart
Pastor Charles Daniel Victor
Hi Good Morning
The prayer of David when he messed up goes like this:
- Cleanse me
- Wash me
- Create in me a clean heart.
- Do not take YOUR HOLY SPIRIT from me.
- Restore unto me the JOY of YOUR Salvation.
- Grant me
He did not say or pray dear LORD
- It was her fault to take a shower in the open courtyard.
- I was too tired to keep my guard up.
- I thought I won't mess it up.
- I did not realize this would be this big of a deal.
His heart was contrite, meaning he showed deep sorrow, regret, and remorse for a very bad action. He didn't feel bad about getting caught. He was totally remorseful.
When we realize how deep our mess was His Mercy begins to flow in and through us. The Lord is close to the broken heart the broken and contrite heart HE does not despise.
Let us not try to blame others (blame is being lame). Let us run to the Throne of Grace where we can obtain mercy and grace in time of our need.
Have a blessed day. Amen
Shalom
